[ For you folks not from North America, Mr. Rogers had a very entertaining, but totally PUKE, kid show
on TV for years, and years. Mr. Rogers favorite saying was "I like you just the way you are."
This was true, he did like his "TV neighbors" just the way they were - on the other end of a televison broadcast, completely where Mr. Rogers would never have any personal contact with them.

Welcome to "XX CS," an audio odyssey through the 20th century.
Firstly, this is not Casey Kasem, not Carson Daly, not the Grand Ole Opry's style of music. This music is challenging, it is penetrating, it is revealing, it is conceptual art at its very best. "XX CS" (which stands for 'Twentieth Century Symphony' ) is an amalgamation of all the impressionistic and symbolic audio reverberations and references that were created, discovered and/or exploited by the 20th century's inhabitants and played out, and about, in the last century's history. "XX CS" was created not to be listened to, but rather to be experienced. Download it, play it through proper speakers, then see if it doesn't speak to you. To most people it will say 'YUCK'! But "XX CS" is not a
'Mc-music' menu item. If you enjoy the works of Samuel Beckett you may be delighted by my lill' opus. Enjoy a personal encounter with sound energy woven from all aspects of technology's fearsomely fantastic and frolicsomely fanciful fruition.
Chimes, violin, guitar, duct tape, synthesizer, timpani, and not least Static, the cosmic background radiation, as well as many other instruments and items have been employed for this work's production.

If we lived in a true civilization Tor Hershman would be on television and radio every night doing comedy. In a true civilization there would be no need for his other songs.
But this planet could sure use more of Tor - more of Tor - more of Tor. |

If listened to carefully, Tor is one of the most complicated lyricists you will ever encounter.
Torian satire is indeed a most deceptively simple affair.
I was not spared from that.
What is intoxicating is the fact that you as the listener will not be spared as well.
These are not musical satires where you can relax and think of the follies and stupidities of the characters and con ...cepts involved.
You are forced to answer the question rising strongly from Tor's words, "What do you really think, beneath your nice appearance, polite ways, and evidence of intelligence?"
It is very difficult not to be angered while laughing to Tor's lyrics and that is where the real beauty of his art resides.
