Reis is a singer from Santo Amaro (the city where Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia were born) and Aldo Brizzi an Italian composer and producer (his tunes are recorded by artists such as Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Teresa Salgueiro, Tom Zé, Arnaldo Antunes, Carlinhos Brown, Virginia Rodrigues, Margareth Menezes, etc.).
Reis denut album, "Aço do Açúcar" (steel of the sugar - produced by Aldo Brizzi in 2005) is a laboratory of new esthetics (trip hop, chill, roots, ethnic, electronica, bossa) sometimes mixing with Afro-Brazilian candomblé rhythms. Subtle and sophisticated electronics. Charming melodies. Strong and intriguing rhythmic pulsing. A voice of sugar with the strength of the steel. A guitar with great energy and nostalgia. A sophisticated music pleasing to the ear.
In the actual concert tour and album project (Loving Glance), Aldo Brizzi covers a wide range of electronic or electronic-influenced music without acoustic instruments. It combines elements of trip hop, drum’n bass (a sort of bass without drums), and classical into world music rhythms such as bossa nova and axé music.
Reis live presence is etheral and hypnotic. She sings lyrics in English, Portugues, Italian, French, with the charme of her typical Brazilian voice. Her performance, directed by Cornelia Geiser, is purified from any singer cliche gesture.
