THE MIDWEST meets THE DIRTY SOUTH. This is a beat I composed especially for an internet collaboration with B. Lazey, a youngsta with mad skillz. We were looking for a female rapper to feature with B on this track, but I ended up writing and performing the second verse, LOL. We had gotten some flack from peers when we first dropped the track on Acid Planet. I think it was due to the fact that listeners were not use to hearing "me" on tracks like this and the use of the "n" word!?! A close listen to the lyrics explains it all...we were trying to approach the subject of young rappers, and the glitzy ideas that they have about making it in the music industry. B wrote his lyrics to describe what he was looking for, and I wrote my lyrics as a response, and added a bit of advise... take a listen. |
