Some people are just evil... |
 |
| Lyrics: |
Fall (Words and music: Roy Bratbakken)
I have twisted my soul for you ? I barely know who I am Sinking down in that ugly truth ? here to break me again
A secret enemy ? diguised within a fake smile Right there in front of me ? I shoulda seen the dead eyes
Latching on when I?m off my guard ? seeping into my mind Poison spreading inside my veins ? like I?m burning alive
A burst of clarity ? ascending from a blind rage I finally found a way ? to break out of my steel cage
I will fight my way through all your lies Shoot?em down to the ground Doesn?t matter now how wide you smile It?s finally time to take you down
Growing up in a soulless void ? looking safe from outside Bound and chained to a cued down role ? tearing holes in my mind
There?s no insanity ? just workings of a dark soul I?ll fight until I die ? Escaping from this black hole
Darkness carried you into this world ? it will take you again You have burned away your final chance It?s time for you to fall back down

Another Hard Rockin' tune! Everybody reaches crossroads in their life where they have to decide between right and wrong, light or dark... ...and sometimes it may not be a simple, straightforward choice! Sometimes...unseen forces may be pulling at you....

Hole in the ground (Words and music: Roy Bratbakken)
Afloat in a stream - caught up in somebodys dream People I see - impossible riddles to me
Thought I had found - some solid ground Now it all whithers away
Screamin inside - it's coming alive A voice from below - rising again - to show me the way Into a hole in the ground
For all I receive - I'm left with new questions to bear The answers I reap - don't seem to fit anywhere
Scenes from my life - haunt me at night How did I get stuck on this ride
Takin a dive - into my life A voice from above - a message of love - sweeping me up Into a crack in the sky
-solo-
I found me a life - I'm ready to put down the knife If this is for real - maybe we'll work out a deal
Just one more blow - who's gonna know Let's fly away from this dump
I'm losing control - It's taking my soul The voice from below - letting me know - which way to go Into a hole in the ground

Your history can be your worst enemy! Don't let it devour you... |

Dark History
(Words & Music: Roy Bratbakken)
Lay your ego down - Let your every fear rise to the surface There's a reason you're here It's your final chance, this won't be painless
Get ready to crawl out of your mind
All eternity - is my reality Now you're part of my game - and you better play or you will never get out of here
Try to hold it in I can read your angst - taste every detail Welcome to my design - Every angle leads into a nightmare
Tearing a hole - stretching your soul
Your insanity - Feeds my energy Now you're part of my game - You better see it my way or you will never get out of here
Set your demons free - They're all part of me Now your soul's on the line - better play or it's mine and you will always be here with me
---solo---
Then you realize - this is all you
All eternity - is my reality Now you're part of my game - and you better play or you will never get out of here
Your dark history - is your worst enemy Now you're caught in this game - till you understand or you will never get out of her |

Like my other songs, this is a melodic (hard)rock-tune. It's a little angry, like 'Rape' is, only heavier (if you use the word 'Heavy' like I do). If 'Rape' is an elephant running through the woods, 'Shameless' is a Brachiosaurus slowly stomping through your village, crushing everything in it's way!
Hope you folks like it!

This is a hardrock-tune that talks about what we're doing to this planet! I guess that's why I wound up sounding a little angry. Hope you get something out of it! |

This tune is a collab between me and my buddy Derek Springer from the States!
Derek Springer: Drums, Bass, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar
Roy Bratbakken: Vocals, Bass, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar
. . . Derek had the riff-idea and came up with drums, bass and rhythm guitars. I doubled his bass and rhythm guitars and wrote lyrics and melody and arranged it. Then we shared lead, and I decorated it a bit, and then I did some screamin'!
Derek played some lead guitar (02:24 - 02:48) Then I played some lead guitar (02:49 - 03:34) Derek Played some more lead guitar (03:35 - 03:52) And then I played another little piece of lead(03:53 - 04:11) . . .
(Apart from that..... I did the intro..... ...Derek did the "delay-guitar" that runs through the whole tune... ...I did some fill-in's here and there and used an empty beer-glass for the slide-outro.
We had an awful lotta fun with this tune, both writing and recording it. We did however have a few sound-issues, but we tried to smooth it out as best we could!)
Hope some of you nice folks in here enjoy the tune! We sure had a great time making it!
Cheers, Roy. |

The Signs
Out of the corner of my eye – I see that shape again I turn to look, but there’s nobody there
Some kinda force from far away it’s getting stronger every day
I know there’s someone there – the signs are everywhere We screwed it up down here Pick me out of this mess and show me the way
I don’t know what is going on – but something’s in the air I’m seeing things that I can’t explain
The strange memories I pushed behind are marching back into my mind
I feel that energy – somebody’s watching me I know I can’t stay here Lift me out of this place and fly me away
That feeling’s haunting me – this ain’t where I should be Whoever’s watching me Lift me out of this place and fly me away |

This was originally a collaboration between myself (Roy Bratbakken) and TheGuruRoach (Alex).
It became this pop/rock kinda tune, with somewhat of a Genesis-vibe to it. Very different from anything I've ever done or been a part of!
Alex had the percussive drums, keyboard/organ and synth bass already worked up, plus the idea for the guitar that I play behind the chorus and solo, as well as the chunky E-G-A part. I then came up with some guitar and bass guitar parts and vocal melody, and wrote the lyrics.
Then along came Lumen (from Superfuse) and worked his magic! He recorded some guitar-tracks, added some fairly heavy drums, and did some amazing mixing and mastering. Apart from the guitars I actually have no idea how he did it exactly, but it really lifted the song a great deal.
And some of the Genesis-like vibe had worn off, as the tune was now sounding a bit more like the music I’m usually involved with.
So it's Alex on drums and keyboards, then I added guitars, words and melody, and Lumen added more guitars and drums and spiced it up and mixed it!
Hope you folks enjoy it! Roy.
