Song Info: |
I got the idea from a book by William Irwin Thompson. The song is talking about the down side of our technology but it doesn't really reflect my personal opinion...it just kind of raises a point I guess.
Ironically, all the instruments were done using the internal COSOM sounds on my Boss recorder (except the drums), so without help from the digital realm, this song wouldn't exist!

| Lyrics: |
Can you feel the good light burnin' out... while integrity is hidin' underground? Disconnected from our scenery we live in shadows of our plasma screens...
(chorus) They push it off on you; this cybernetic stew, techno swill's a tasteless brew...
Over and over until it starts again, it's a blind addiction that you feed again. Sensation's overrated but we feel the need, so we have our oxymoron: "real tv"...

Equipment: Fender Strat, Yamaha keyboard (for drums), my trusty Boss Recorder.
I also used my "live" pedalboard for the guitar solo (which ends rather abruptly because it was sharing a track with the backup vocal). I've been listening to Anders Osborne lately and for the solo, I was trying to get that fatter than fat tone that he gets and you just can't get that going direct into the Boss recorder. |

| Lyrics: |
Hey...won't you take a ride on someone else's dreams and pardon mine? Hey...wont' you look inside and face up to the fears that you try and hide?
(chorus) No need to remorse when love has run it's course no need to pretend it away all we need my dear is to see beyond our fear Love is blind until the light of day
Hey...bottom line, no one ever promised a paradise Hey...it'll be alright, everything is clear when you see the light..

I guess we all get a little fed up sometimes. This song is my reflection on that feeling. It's kind of a mish-mash of mixed metaphors (but so are most of my lyrics). Equipment used: Fender Strat, Yamaha Keyboard (for drums), Boss recorder. |

| Lyrics: |
Train...take too long Free my weary soul Please...all I need set my spirit free
'cause I'm feelin so low and I can't go on no more
I been sittin here forever in the middle of the edge of town waitin at the station for the last train to roll around the weight of the world's got a good man feelin down be ridin a train 'till the Lord my soul has found
Train...take me far to the farthest star please...take me away Lord don't wanna stay
'cause I'm feelin so low and I can't go on no more
I been sittin here forever in the middle of the edge of town waitin at the station for the last train to roll around got no luggage and I don't care where your bound be ridin a train 'till the Lord my soul has found |

 |
| Lyrics: |
Another mile gone down the road; another bill paid up and plenty more left to go. Now and then I get the feelin' this note I tote is just a way to keep me reeled in and...
(chorus) I don't need no reason to be what I am, it's all I'll ever be. When I'm down and reelin' in the past, rest assured that the memory never lasts too long...bittersweet sad song...you keep me goin'...
Miss Misery, she got a friend her name's Commitment and her tyrany never ends she'll trade her body for your soul smile a little while but everybody knows that
She'll set ya free 'cause she knows you'll never leave all you have is community property and when your down and reelin in the past rest assured that the memory never lasts too long Bittersweet sad song...you keep it goin...
Give it time and times will change; wouldn't have it livin' any other way. When I wake up in the mornin', please don't ask me 'cause I don't know where I'm goin' and...

| Lyrics: |
In the night where the cold wind blows you get this feelin and it chills you to your soul...
Do you wanna go to the other side? Have you the time to find Sin City?
The people there, they don't mind. They don't say much 'cause they're wasted all the time...
Do you wanna go to the other side? Have you the time to find Sin City?
You feel the night, you can see the cold...you realize you're not in your body anymore...
Now you know about the other side. Have you the time to find Sin City? |

Lately forever don't seem long enough forever is only a touch on the water of an ocean of love that flows between us blessed from above...
(chorus) I need you today, more than yesterday forever this way, forever's just a day.
Time flows, time goes away take a moment, 'cause we have today come together to love this way make it precious don't let it slip away

| Lyrics: |
I never wanna go where nobody knows my style; never wanna be where I'll never see your smile.
(chorus) But the road can take you far, and the road can leave you hard, but I know there's gonna be time for you and me in a little while.
I never wanna say anything to bring you down. 'Cause I live for the day when your love will stay around...

I've seen too many people around me get hooked on stuff and I've watched it tear their lives apart. It's very sad to watch. |

| Lyrics: |
Hey did I hear you askin' why you never see me around no more?
But every time I see you lately I can tell the poison's in control.
And I really don't have the time...to sit around and watch you die...'cause I've seen it all before and I don't care anymore to see the after.
Is what your takin' really worth all that you're worth to keep you high?
You've been forsaken by the lie that never dies and cheats you blind.
And it's a long and lonely ride...right down a one way suicide...and I've seen this all before and I don't care anymore to see the after.
I'd like to be there reminiscin' over gone and better times.
Don't think I don't care but the hurt has gotten worse from your demise.
I really hope you'll be alright...and I'll say a prayer for you tonight...cause I've seen it all before and I don't care anymore to see the after |
