Actually just kind of an instrumental experiment and at the same time an ode to the good old YAMAHA SY85 synth, which has been an absolutely reliable workhorse to me over all those years. And still is. Remastered version 2006. |

"Now don'’t you tell it’s love - when it was just another affair" |
 |
| Lyrics: |
You made it easy to believe So I thought you'’d understand But to sum it up in brief The kind of love you gave was only 2nd-hand
You never gave me cause or reason To let me know that there was something wrong I thought this was our winning season But since I'’ve lost I’'m sitting here to write this song
(Seems to me) I had the good times, you the bad ones (Seems to me) You did not even want to talk But then your pretty silent phone-calls Made me clear up my mind and blow away the fog...
+ + + + + + + + + Now don’'t you tell it'’s love - when it was just another affair Don'’’t tell it’'’s love - when it was just another affair Don’'’t tell it’'’s love - when it was just another affair Don'’’t tell it’'’s love - when it was just another affair to you (no no) + + + + + + + + +
(And now I know) Why I did never get a second chance Not even any kind of answer to my lines You had some trouble with your next romance And faced another day where the sun just never shines...
+ + + + + + + + + So don'’’t you tell it'’’s love - when it was just another affair Don'’’t tell it'’’s love - when it was just another affair Don’'’t tell it'’’s love - when it was just another affair Don'’’t tell it'’’s love - when it was just another affair to you (no no) + + + + + + + + +
Just another affair... |

 |
| Lyrics: |
Saw you dancin'’ like fire on that saturday night You just totally hypnotized me and it seemed so right Couldn’'t look anywhere –but into your eyes I swear I didn’'t move but I was torn like magnetised
As I kept coming closer (there) was a shiver all over me I (just) wanted to touch you, don'’t trust another wait and see As I openend my eyes again –now you were gone And so I could only dream how this could go on
(tell me) + + + + + + + + + + Will you still be by my side –when 2morrow comes? and will this all still seem so right when 2morrow comes around? + + + + + + + + + +
Met your eyes back there in the corner shining so bright Saw another one’s arms around you holding you so tight As I opened my eyes again now you were gone But if you ever change your mind answer to this song
(and tell me) + + + + + + + + + + That you will be by my side – when 2morrow comes and ev’rything will be allright – when 2morrow comes around - repeat - + + + + + + + + + +
That you will be by my side when 2morrow comes... |

Work yourself to death? Fly without wings? Pills = nutrition? Total sacrifice for the presumable "wealth"? Money piles and recognising too late that HEALTH is not to be bought? "Betrayed by your "shiny world" - you need a heart, but just have money..." |
 |
Song Info: |
Nur ackern bis zum Umfallen? Fliegen ohne Flügel? Jahrelang Pillen schlucken? Haste was - biste was, haste nix mehr - kennt dich keine S.. mehr.

Do not surrender to your life's worries! Sad things happen to everyone once in a while, but isn't there a time to stop the whining, get yourself together and rise again? Ever tried? - It works! ;-) |

Schon mal probiert? - Funktioniert! ;-) |

| Lyrics: |
Hast Du’s überhaupt schon mal probiert?
Wer aufgibt - verliert (Irgendwann) Hast Du’s überhaupt schon mal probiert? (Irgendwann) ++++++ +++++++

| Lyrics: |
(Do you...) Do you remember the first time that we met Some kind of virtual rendesvouz - (I) found you in the chat (We were...) dancing all night long - I played the drums you sang a song – felt you right next to me when sunrise came along
(We did...) send each other pictures which made the tension grow Sweating fingers dial a number - more adrenalin to flow More and more we got familiar „now in person we should meet“ And if it’s just for finding out that the pictures didn’t cheat
But there is one thing girl I want you to know Anytime – anywhere – wherever you go
+ + + + + + + + + + I’m just one click away and I am at your side all day + + + + + + + + + +
(I was...) sittn’ there and wond’ring then you walked through the door Couldn’t read your mind but I guess - you were wond’rin even more But at the end of the day (when) we were walking round the lake There was no wondrin’ anymore - that this was no mistake
We mailed, phoned and met again - a friendship to secure And i wrote this song to help me - (to) make it everlast for sure So just listen to the music - when SUN’s not at your side And I’m sure that you will see that everything will be allright
And there is one more thing I want you to know Anytime – anywhere – wherever you go
+ + + + + + + + + + I’m just one click away and I am at your side all day - repeat - + + + + + + + + + +
I’m just one click away... |

Oh man, only english language for a review!
How americanized have we become?
Well, "Split End Blue" is just the right name for this project, I guess: "Hey Split End, your play is a "15 and out!"".
This means we go "15" years back in time (where we reach the nice 1980s within the year 1989), but nowadays you're pretty "out" with that sound...!
B ...ut I hope you won't be feelin' that "blue" after that beginning of my review...
Nonetheless, I have to admit that all the songs are very well crafted, with very typical and very well thought out cosmic-y elements.
The level of musicality and depth rises from song to song, and to me, especially the tracks "When 2morrow comes" and "Irgendwann" stand out as true gems!
To get a away with that slick produciton, they'd really deserve a big-time production to give Bohlen and all that other "Superstar"-bullshit a blast!
The feeling is very 80s-style, and even that is pretty out nowadays, there are still a lot of us left that still remember the 80s quite well and vividly, don't we...?!?
So if you like pure 80s-sound, you're just right with "Split End Blue"! Just travel back to your youth and have "Split End Blue" as a soundtrack for it...
But I'd rather prefer the sound of that Unnamed Band, the man behind "Split End Blue" is a member since 1993 (as he quoted). In old times, the Unnamed Band sometimes was also very 80s-sounding, but nowadays tends to be sometimes quite heavy - I know this sound will always be a ... |
