Aggressive interplay between bass and drums held together with guitars.
Dennis had this riff that he couldn't find a home for. After numerous attempts to put it to a song he surrendered it to droll. A drum loop was made. His riff was pasted in various spots. The record light went on and 15 tracks of guitar were improvised one after another. Gina (drums) played to a click, never hearing the actual song and Skinny (bass) played to just the guitars. | Lyrics: |
I may want you, I could need you, I might see you by my side. But the truth reveals a different view, One with you behind.
I may want you, I could love you, I might hold you in my mind,
The truth reveals a view with you behind.
When we met it seemed to real, the way we got along, We could talk for hours on end and then we couldn't wait, to talk again.
So it was much to my surprise, to see us fall before my eyes, I can count the days between your words forever and never.
I may want you, I could need you, I might see you by my side. But the truth reveals a different view, One with you behind.
I may want you, I could love you, I might hold you in my mind,
But the truth reveals a view with you behind.
Should have known there'rd be a catch, I didn't read between, what was said.
Suddenly our differences got in each others way.........what can I say?
I know we never signed a deal. But is it ink that's really real?
I can count the days between your words forever and never.
Don't missunderstand me. I'm content with what we got. The little time we spent together, taught us both alot. The things we never thought before, things we both believed. Though we may see things differently. Why would that affect what we could.......... be?
I may want you, I could need you, I might see you by my side. But the truth reveals a different view, One with you behind
I may want you, I could love you, I might hold you in my mind,
The truth reveals a view with you behind. |

| Lyrics: |
I always have trouble breathing, when I first see you in the room
Must I choose between my feelings? And the breathing I must do?
Intoxication fills my being Delirious I wander close to you
I lay my cheek against your temple and take a breath of you
Breathing you it takes me to
A breathless place inside of you
Breathing high, breathing low,
Breath the love between ya know
I donâ€&a mp;#8482;t believe there is a high that steals my mind like you
Just breathing you
You turn your head in invitation where did you hide the perfume?
Down your neck, across your shoulder take another breath of you
Breathing you, it takes me to
The place where I feel everything
Breathing you, I think I could do
Anything life asks of me
See you now, gasp for air
Bury my face in you hair
Breathing you I breathe again |

This is the 2nd section in the "Subtandard Suite". The drum section was recorded at an unrelated jam on unrelated chord progressions. Trumpet was recorded on first pass without hearing the piece before recording. |

| Lyrics: |
If I could................... Happiness....... Is a state of mind.
Loneliness...... Isn't far behind
What's truth today seems like a truth just left behind.
Some watered stool of truth derived in someones mind.
Chorus: Wanting....Needing....
These are Dangerous Loves,
Eating....Sleeping....
These are some Dangerous Loves,
Alone in all the world to see, All the crap you've fed to me, These are just a few of the Dangerous Loves.
Faithfulness....... Is from the heart.
Sweet caress...... Isn't where it starts.
What we call trust today is of another kind. Some cheesy version like the food they sell in lines.
Chorus: Wanting....Needing....
These are Dangerous Loves,
Eating....Sleeping....
These are some Dangerous Loves,
Alone in all the world to see, All the crap you've fed to me, These are just a few of the Dangerous Loves.
Bridge: What makes you think you've got it right?
With this thing that you call life.
Glued to all that contacts you.
Just take a minute...contemplate....
Are these patterns a mistake....like the trash that we call cool?
Yea cool...........
Alone in all the world to see,
All the crap you've fed to me.
These are just a few of the Dangerous Loves
Chorus: Wanting....Needing....
These are Dangerous Loves,
Eating....Sleeping....
These are some Dangerous Loves,
Alone in all the world to see, All the crap you've fed to me, These are just a few of the Dangerous Loves. (©© 2003 D.R. Wilke) |

A droll commentary on what could happen if a person in a position powerful enough to launch bombs at command had an ulterior motive to go to war. |
 |
| Lyrics: |
We’ve had the Ten Commandments, so how about one more? In God’s name, I can proclaim a “Just and Holy” war.
That’s thirteen, is the math right? Does anybody care?
In school my dad took care of things, while I sat around and stared.
Chorus: Cause it’s a deep-deep love giving me an erection,
That could send a bomb in any direction
I swear to God it’s for a good intention
But let’s face the fact it’s just a crude affection
I’m telling you all, it’s for mass protection
A symbol of peace toward a-world perfection
I swear to God it’s my deepest intention but…
It’s just a crude affection.
Tonight the President will give Sadam Husein one last chance in 48 hrs to leave Iraq or face war.
The president will say he has all the legal authority he needs to prosecute this war.
He’s tried to resolve the impasse with Iraq peacefully.
Chorus:

Originally inspired by a cassette tape Dennis titled... JXP3&WEED. Analog synth bits about a dozen or so. Layed that across Gina's 7 min. trip on the drums. blackdevils family video pasted with splaters of guitar, sitar so far... |

This is a snappy little piece. A remix for The Project Glitch CD, http://store.mixonic.com/noo A small genre of electronics based on sounds created by accident. Project Glitch ended up with 10 remixes from 10 diferent artists from around the world. It was a real challenge. We were provided with eleven loops of various lengths. Once I initially heard the loops I had an idea of how I wanted things to work out. As I went along I realized that it took an awful lot of cutting & pasting to come up with maybe... ten seconds of audio.

This was the first of the current lineup of droll experiments. The initial drum track was recorded while drummer Jim Allen improvised to my live guitar playing while experimenting with polyrhythms. The goal then was to take 3 arranged chord progressions and play those to his drum track. The guitar solo was played live in one pass with zero editing. Surprise ebow at the beginning.I pushed the record button while Dennis unknowingly played along. |

Hey, I finally got around to listening to your stuff, and I'm glad I did!
I thought that Dangerous Loves really reminded me of Billy Idol, which was cool. Crude Affections was great, with the soundclips of the president interspersed with that chorus there!
I also really liked those two long instrumentals. It's amazing to see how short a period of time half an hour really is!

Dig the Bill Nelsonish guitars & samples on More Thievery, Breathing You... simmers, and after that everything gets... wonderfully strange! Like a flashback coming on...

Fearful of Publicity .... you are a very interesting artist droll ... seldom heard such a sound... I like that very much ... only the vocals are a bit noisy. But that doesn't matter, be what you are, be droll ;-)Greg Harris,
