"Now this one is sooo well produced and it has so many interesting details that I can listen to it for hours discovering each and everyone of them one by one. Great arrangement!!! (it sounds 80's too, more Toto kinda) but is so well done that makes you forget genres and trends.
First of all I have to mention the guitar part on 3:00/3:08 which totally drives me crazy. On the other hand I'm not so crazy about the synth sound (first appearance 0:25),love the notes not the timbre.
The melodic treatment is similar to "In This Life's" melody but here I can't find a distinctive part where to put the chorus when analyzing morphologically. That, in my opinion, makes the song less marquetable. However there's a melodic pattern which is used a lot (may be cuz it's beautiful)First appearance -1:00/1:03---"If you want me too". |

Ambient beginning, but...bobota-club-gas ! ***Review by anrkeboy ( http://www.mp3.com/anrkeboy ) from Colorado Springs, USA: As a drummer and an electronic musician, I love when an artist pushes the boundaries of what is usually a pretty straightforward aspect of dance/techno music, the drums, and on Never Ask for Matzke Mike Burn does exactly that, creating a bit of confusion at first as the snare (hand clap, really) and bass seem to be working against each other, but the vibe that creates is great, especially when the rest of the music kicks in to solidify the groove. Although there's not many transitory aspects of the melody pieces, the song still pumps a groove that forces a listener to bob their head whether they want to or not. Tasty stuff, definitely a hard house groove with the drums but lots of trance elements in the bass and synths which is a perfect combination for this track! |

"Beat- four on the floor, cymbal work is interesting and original, shaker/hht filtered noise is great, and the snares are well placed, fills are minimal but evolving2.
Melody / Harmony- good, i love the way the synths blend together, the lead synth sound is pretty common i'm still deciding what it means to the track. Arrangement- good solid techno/house/trance 8 measures and move on.
Mood- grove is in the circuitry, i like this, it makes me want to roll all over the room. Sonic integrity (engineering)- excellent... especially the hhts and the guitar/synth sounds. Originality- it has it's own original mood, i've heard a lot of these elements before but never blended in this way." |

"What's not to like. What I think is really sweet about this song is I can hear at least 4 different era's of music all put into one song. I hear some guitar licks that remind me of the early 80's, the dance beat of today, early 90's synth, and the vocals are reminding me of video music on TV from the booming years in the mid 80's. Quite the mixture. I sometimes have a hard time figuring out where it's going to go. That, may be what makes it unique. "Someone" earlier said they had a problem with the song having guitar in it. Hell, that's what makes the song."
