since a long time the same artists + songs dominate the top5 charts on your front page.
i have started some promo for One of my songs ... to check this out ... and it climbed into the top5 too ... but as i stoped the promo the tune falls down very fast ... thats ok so far ... i really wonder how songx like "harp song" or artists like "FMN~Music + Padawan Records" ... are able to be permanent on top.
even songs which was featured @ the startpage are not able to break through.
just wondering ... and now i look forward to hear your statement ...  |

Most probably because the songs get lots of plays 
Imagine someone is very busy in some kind of forum (think of some of these
girls over at myspace who have some 5 figure numbers of friends) and has
a link to one song in his/her signature (or a link to the main artist page and the
request 'if you want to hear some good music just click on 'play all').
I feel with you (I like 'harp song', it's well played, but after all it's a remake)
and it looks a little odd to have this song at the top of the charts for weeks,
but that's how things are.
I don't think that there is a lot of manipulation going on there. |

first ... i agree with you 100 % ... exellent music so far 
second ... i´ve not spoken from manipulation or things like that !!
i´ve recherched a lil about harpsong ... but found not only one link to soundlift.
maybe have i overseen something ?? ...
but my main thought was ... here are over 5000 !!! artists ... do they all nothing ??
i found this ... hmmmmm .... lemme say ... curios ...  |

returns lots of hits where you can buy their songs for money, maybe they have a
lot of fans who have discovered soundlift to download/hear it for free?

I think so 
Whenever I post here I'll get a couple of downloads/hearings, that's not much
but enough to always have a song in the top 20th and they rest well placed
in the correponding genre charts.
Obviously you don't need much hits to get a good chart position, so I think
most of the 5000 do even less then a posting here or there... |

yes tom ... have googled first ... but harpsound @ soundlift is not on top ...
but it seems, only we both are interested in this theme here... 
no other, with an opinion ? ...  ... will check in tomorrow again ...
maybe then ... for now ... i´m up to  |

What goes for the band "Padawan" and "FMN", they really seem to have a big community behind the projects. I can track that inside our internal statistics, many users seem to visit their pages and play their songs from within Germany.
I can not guarantee for the other bands and of course we did also notice that some songs seem to be "glued" to the Top10 and those do receive a lot of plays.
An advanced tool for possible "manipulation"-detection and exclusion of those bands from the charts has already been discussed and given "green light" by us and the OMS-developers. |
