Well, I think that myspace is not bad place but everything depends from how you use it - it is not enough just to post there your songs and forget about it:) I get many messages from artists about live events and offers to buy their albums, etc. - so they do a big work to promote their music between the millions of people which are there and almost sure they have success in it.

and a lot more ... all for free it´s fun to be active there IMHO ... |
Hmh, I have this feeling that Mikes posting was not very good for this forum
here, everyone's now at myspace |
I hear very often that "MySpace is so big"... it is. See the initial article above, however I am a member since March 2005 (!) and received since that roughly 300 plays. That's a joke compared to the thousands of plays I received on various OMD platforms and also my Soundlift account shows way more plays for that time period. I also can say that I receive all of my fan mails and interesting contacts (i.e. invitations for gigs) over my Soundlift or other OMD pages, not over MySpace. On MySpace I receive a lot of "Thanks for the add" and "I want to be your friend" mails (some from Nigeria or Russia - women for money HAHA), that's it. Good is that I met many people I believed to be "gone" over MySpace again.
A common MySpace problem are the downtimes. A LOT......
In other words MySpace is some sort of "a must", it would be crazy not to open a free account as long as it is possible. But it would be insane to only believe in MySpace, because that's NO place for Indies becoming stars or happy IMHO
It's already under control. |
Mike, can you reveal how many plays you have had at the most for 14 continous days here at Soundlift? If you do, I will remind you of how many plays - and how much income - you had for 14 special days at the web in 2001

Errrrrrrrr..... *blush*
Find below my band stats for September:
It could be more oh yeah HAHA but still that's better than what we have achieved in 1 1/2 years on MySpace... to put it in a perspective - looks like we get 15 fold the plays on Soundlift compared to MySpace while our "friends" list is in the hundreds.
Overall we can't complain about the number of unique visitors and plays here on Soundlift. |

I think Soundlift ROCKS for overall performance and features.
MySpace is a hoot! "Server is too busy"..."Sorry. an unexpected error has occured" "INVALID friend ID"
Hey Mike, remember this?
That was awesome!!!
now if we could just Photoshop Ash Ferry & Daniel Iorio in there, that would be a cool cyber-band isn't it?
