Vortech, maybe I am not understanding.
Are you saying that you do not trust people of other cultures in your country, because some people of that culture outside your country have become terroists ?
Because that is called being racist, judging someone not because of who they are but what you think they are.
Or do you mean something else ?
Try not to hide behind words. |

Gee....
In America, one of our worst terrorist bombings on our own soil was perpetrated by one of our own - a right-wing extremist who decided to bomb the Oklahoma City Federal building, Timothy McVeigh.
You never know when some lunatic is going to snap and whether he kills for his own agenda or some international organization or some religion...
To project that on anyone because of their race or religion is simply racist... |

He's not. He's trying to save it, praise the lord.
Its his handlers that are trying to run it .
and if you want to play the "foreign aid" card please bear in mind that weighed against Gross Domestic Product, the US has the worst record among the G8.

I'm trying to put together my winter reading list. Would you happen to know where I can get a list of good material on the Canadian economy? I'm paritcularly interested in how the last few years has forced us to find other markets for our exports as well as an analysis of our policies regarding foreign ownership. Know of a good place for me to start? That and a good prospectus on our distribution of wealth would be neato. If you can. no pressure. just figured you'd be a good guy to ask.

oooohh... so this is where the party is!
see v- the reason the "states in the most danger voted for kerry"
theory gives them a crewcut, is that most of middle america believes
(like that lady in fahrenheit), "terrorists can strike anywhere",
that bin ladin's boys are combing rural arkansas looking for victims.
my little hometown of connersville ind., as close to cincinnati as indianapolis,
county population 16,000, the highest structure in town the farm bureau co-op grain elevators,
a city law that there has to be more churches than bars,
took measures to prevent terrorists from poisoning the town's water supply!
bush won this election on fear (and paperless diebold of cleveland voting
machines) of gay marriage, a divorced catholic in the white house
(w/ a foreign born wife, the reason laura became a conjoined twin this past few weeks)
that "terrorists" are everywhere....
the fact is- most americans aren't happy with: the economy, the war in iraq,
our image in the world, feel less safe for attacking iraq...
the reeps have somehow convinced america that this eastern, yale skull and bones,
cheerleader, ex-coke addict/ alchoholic , several time failed business
man-is a macho, texas, "god feer'n man" that's fit to run the country.
mark my words- this will be much like the late 60's early 70's, especially after
we get the "it's with deep regret that i must create a draft.." speech to
pull geedub's ass from the mess he's made, or his desire to go after syria and iran.
let's not forget that richard nixon won a second term also. |

excellent! thank you!
its the funniest thing actually. the US has been spanking in chapter and verse ever since Cretien refused to play along in Iraq. now the US economy is sliding (ready to tank if you ask me) and ours is heating up. that's never happened before that I know of.
cheers,

| Carol you think you might have access to "facts" but in reality your elected goverment controls your media, your perception is probably flawed. It takes effort to find thruth when you are surrounded in lies. |

hiya brian- it's been awhile. that's so "vietnam era".
you do know about the "smart border"
pact the u.s. and canada made after 911, w/ provisions that
allows for extradition of draft dodgers seeking refuge in canada?
sadly, i have to worry about my 17 1/2 yr. old daughter
being drafted as well. the bill that was revived and killed
recently to quiet the rumors pre-election, called for the draft of
both sexes. the idea's been on the table for years-
you may remember frank/moon zappa's "i don't wanna get drafted"
from the early 80's on the subject.

The truth is there if you look for it. Bush supporters refuse to look at the truth and discount it as propaganda.
It's all in the 'America - right or wrong' philosophy. People just can't come to grips with the possibility that their leader may have made mistakes. He, himself, will not admit to any mistakes.
The reasons for this war change every time he tells it - WMD - then, WMD related programs - then, intent to build WMD - whatever suits his purposes.
The ends justify the means and the deaths... |

hey Kirk. actually I didn't. I'm going to look into it, though, and do my best to raise hell now the facts are in if that's the case. They were explicitly welcome in the 60's and they should be again. That was one of those post-9/11 thingies, wasn't it? Well, that was a long time ago. very very much has changed since then.
I DO know there's a lawyer processing refugee status for three dodgers right now so I'm sure there's gonna be a way around it. This hasn't even started yet. We can play spot-the-subclause too, so there's hope even in the short term.
I read the proceedings on that dog-and-pony show in the House. What a crock. Rumour has it the draft will start around march with linguist and computer specialists but you know that's just the wedge for the door.
I think I'm going to see if I can get some answers out of my Member of Parlaiment. I'll let you know what I find out.
maybe we could just classify them as "beef" so the FDA won't take them back |
