I run several message boards. I have one rule. DON'T DISCUSS POLITICS AND/OR RELIGON! People always get mad at eachother. Keep it to music, films, books etc. If you want to discuss politics...go to a politics forum.

I think I know what you mean, but first this is the "Small Topic/Off-Topic Forum" and second obviously there is a great desire from people all around the world to discuss new developments in world politics or anything else regarding politics here, otherwise you wouldn't have been forced to post your comment on page #8 of this thread. It's also a fact that world politics do affect our daily lives, especially in these times of war and disorder and I think many artists do reflect on these matters in their songs and lyrics.
See it also as a blessing, that people from various countries and cultural backgrounds are able to come here together and discuss, bringing in their local experience, education and viewpoints. Some bridges will be built, some destroyed but there will be also some sort of "interconnection" at the same time.
As a matter of fact the IC-Musicmedia messageboards are intended to be free of personal insults, cultural- or racial discrimination... per se a flame-free zone.
This being said everybody is invited to discuss here in a free manner as long as there is no "flame" character or name-calling involved.
Moderation is and will be tight. |

well said, Mike, but I think it's apparent this is kind of a one-sided debate and I just appreciate your asking folks not to call people names, thanks. |

mike well said....
Carol one sided debate? Think about it. This is an international web site, many different cultures sharing their points of view, you know maybe that should tell you something.
I'm trying to be polite and respect your point of view but its not clear what that is. Why is Bush so f... ucking great? Economy? Protection? Come on wake up, take a stand and defend your logic, you are an artist therefore speak up. The world is in transformation, Iraq war is still ongoing, people are dying for your cause, your economy is hurting, the U.S. has declared that Iran, north korea are possible threats.... Why is Bush great? What is your cause? Why are you in Iraq?
Will you defend him when your goverment starts exploiting another countries natural resources for your benefits? (Not only in Iraq)
Will you defend him when your goverment implements the draft?
How much power are you willing to give to your goverment? (please read 1984 from george orwell) I'm not paranoid but just seeing very similiar ideologies sprouting up in your country.
Just remember Canada is very very cold, you would really hate it here.... pass the message along to all your republican friends... Canada no good, too much beer and pot up there.
Thanks,
Simon |
