This is something I wrote back in 1996 on the acoustic. When I got into PC Recording, I did a quick through take, chaning the acoustic to electric, and adding bass. Then I dropped a couple of loops in just to spice it up a bit.
I'm currently working on expanding and adding lyrics. But, that might take a while. |

This is one of the first songs I wrote back in 1996 after leaving Last Call. It's come a LONG way since then.
I've tried doing vocals for this song. I've done them before about a year or two ago, and they weren't bad. Now, they're awful. I don't know why, but I just can't seem to get the vocals done at ALL. I want to totally rewrite the lyrics, but, I have NOTHING to say.
Oh well. Maybe sometime after my wife gives birth she can give them a crack. Till then, this is just a short, edited instrumental.
A VERY special thanks to David Williams for the killer guitar solo during the bridge! Check him out here:

I wrote the bassline to this song back when I was with Last Call. Once I got into PC recording and got my first electric guitar, I decided to try recording it. I added a simple guitar line and drum track to the original bassline and uploaded it as "The Deep".
Then, I decided to do some vocals for it. I took an old set of lyrics I wrote back in High School, edited them to fit the short version of the music and recorded them. It turned out better than I had thought, so I rerecorded the song, made it longer, added a bridge, and went back to the original lyrics.
Over all, I think it went pretty good, but there was still something missing. Then came "The Shady Neighbor"...
Not too long after I put the full version of Eternal Bliss together, fellow AP artist "The Shady Neighbor" offered to do some lead guitar work for it. So, I sent him the project, and what he returned was just OUTSTANDING! He did SUCH a great job on this! If you listened to the other version first, you'll see what I mean.
Over all, I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out. I really want to go back and rerecord all my parts (guitars, bass, vocals) and tweak the drums a little more, but, I'm having issues with my PC. So, for now this version will just have to do. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this as much as I have.

I feel the end of humanity Nothing left for society With pain and suffering I'll take your life Shoved into your back is my sharpest knife There is nothing left that you can do Run for cover I'm coming for you
Hand of God strikes the earth Millions of people dead at birth Bodies lying in the streets In my head this vision repeats Mangled lives and broken dreams Death to all is what this means
I hear the screams of a tortured race I look to you with such disgrace You have no one but yourself to blame Step a little closer and feel the flame No more games no fucking around I'm committing your body to the ground |

I wrote these lyrics one day at a coffee shop I went to to kill time before school. After I started recording back in 1996, just after leaving Last Call, I wrote the music basically to follow the lyrics.
Then, once I got an electric guitar about a year and a half ago, I came up with a simple electric line to follow.
About a month ago, I uploaded a test run asking for any lead guitarists to add their signature to the track. JAYSTERGUITAR was the first to respond to my "Lead Guitarist Request" a little while back, and here's what he did. I personally think he did a GREAT job.

| Lyrics: |
Walking around with a smile on my face Who am I? What is this place? As I look around, I start to shout But no one can hear me and I need to get out
I'm lost in a world that you can't find I'm lost in the maze of my mind I'm lost alone and I don't know why I'm lost in here until the day I die
Walking around in a state of bliss I can't remember how it came to this I've come to my senses and I realize now I want to go home but I don't know how
Walking around blinded by the pain It'd seem my efforts have been in vain I found myself in a wreckaged dream But I'm forever trapped with no time to scream |

This song was written about, and deticated to our loving son Duncan. I like the way it turned out, but I really want to redo the music with the equipment I have now. |

| Lyrics: |
You stare at me your eyes so blue I truly see how much I love you My heart's so full of so much joy I can't explain how I got this boy
Chorus: I see it in your face I know it in my heart I feel it in my blood I new it from the start You are my loving son
I love your laugh it makes me smile But when you cry I'm sad for a while Your soul's so pure and made of gold It's you I want to have and hold
Your little hands they never fight You hold on to me so tight And though you don't say too much yet I know you love me and won't forget |

This is a song I've had for about 6 years now. The intro on this song was something I came up with while with Last Call. After leaving the band, I worked it out and came up with some guitar parts to it. The lyrics I wrote one day just letting my mind wander, and they just seemed to fit. Then, once my wife started doing the vocals, we put our heads together and expanded on it. |

| Lyrics: |
Sitting beside this rivers bank I look to the sky and I start to think Staring towards that setting sun I see the earth and clouds merged into one All the colors seem intertwined Just a few more minutes here and I'll be fine The horizon dreams of better days Where the child inside me always plays
Chorus: We know not just who we are We just long to clearly see Life will take us near and far But as the wind we must be free
Looking out amongst the sea I see the person I was meant to be But as unexpected as the wave Fate lends a hand and I start to cave Everyday I feel the strain Of a life I'm forced to live in vain Nothing makes sense to me anymore It's like nothing I've ever felt before
Standing here oh how I long to be A part of the heavens I hear calling to me To receive all I hope to find Not like this world that I'm leaving behind Brought to my knees by a savage race The struggle to live but I'm in last place So now I put my faith to the ultimate test I close my eyes and hope for the best
As I'm taken to the sky I look around and I wonder why People come and people go Who am I? I just don't know |
